Dr. Subrat K Acharya
Dr. Subrat Kumar Acharya (born 1 November 1951) a noted gastroenterologist and liver transplant physician is an alumnus of SCB Medical College. In fact, he began his career as a medical teacher in SCB Medical College as Lecturer in Gastroenterology. He is a physician scientist, a prolific writer and a passionate teacher. Besides, Prof. S.K. Acharya is well known for his compassion and patient-centric approaches in treating complex diseases. Prof S. K. Acharya is also a revered teacher. He has trained many young gastroenterologists who now carry forward his legacy across the world. After providing almost 40 years of public service at AIIMS, New Delhi, he now serves as the Pro Chancellor KIIT University Bhubaneswar and HOD Gastroenterology and Hepatology PBMH KIMS (KIIT University, Bhubaneswar) and Executive Director of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Fortis Flt. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. Besides, he has been the President of the two premier learned societies, Idian Society of Gastroenterology [ISG] and Indian National Association for Study of the Liver [INASL].
