Prof Dr Maya Padhi completed her MBBS in 1981 and her post-graduation in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1985 from SCB Medical College, Cuttack. She has 18 publications in various National and international journals. Besides she is the author of several book chapters. She has presented several papers in conferences at the State, Zonal and national level. She won the best article in the Odisha Medical Journal, 2012.

She is the programme-in-charge of IGNOU and PGDMCH courses at SCB MCH, Cuttack. She was the former Project Officer, PPC, SCB Medical College, Cuttack and was responsible for the implementation of JSY programme in the Dept. of O&G.

She is a life member of FOGSI (Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology Society of India), AOGO (Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Odisha), IMA, ISOPARB (Indian Society of Perinatology and reproductive Biology), GMS, and IAGE (Indian Association of Gynecological Endoscopists). She was the President, Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Odisha (2016-2018). She was the Scientific Chairperson, 61^st AICOG, Bhubaneswar (2018). She was the Organising Secretary, FOGSI Zonal PG CME from 2005-2007. She was the National Co-ordinator, FOGSI-SUN Initiative for PG Training (2011). She has been the editor of AOGO FOCUS from 1999-2005 and the Treasurer of AICOG, Bhubaneswar,2002.
